Achievements/Accomplishments

(May 2006) Mahmoud Taherzadeh (one of our PhD students) receives the CITO's Research Excellence Scholarships. CITO awards Research Excellence Scholarships in recognition of exceptional graduate students whose CITO-supported research has created new knowledge, technology or advancement in their field of study. (November 2005) Nortel Networks Institute Research Excellence Awards were awarded to four graduate students in our lab. They will each receive a cash award of $250 for their excellence in research from the Nortel Networks Institute for Advanced Information Technology at the University of Waterloo.

The winners are:

  • Mohammad Ali Maddah-Ali for "Standard Contribution in Sub-Channel Reuse for CQICH Fast Feedback Channels"
  • Mahmoud Taherzadeh for "Standard Contribution in Sub-Channel Reuse for CQICH Fast Feedback Channels"
  • Mehdi Ansari for "Standard Contribution in Unified MIMO Pre-Coding Based on Givens Rotation"
  • Hadi Baligh for "Standard Contribution in Unified MIMO Pre-Coding Based on Givens Rotation"

(August 2004) Farzaneh Kohandani (one of our PhD students) receives the Canadian Wireless Telecommunication Association Graduate Scholarship.

(June 2004) Hadi Baligh (one of our PhD students) receives the CITO Student Research Excellence Award.

(December 2002) Prof. Amir K. Khandani was awarded the "Certificate of Achievement" by Nortel Networks for the second year.
